languagelens
Lingtech wants to be the best, and we can only reach this objective if we associate with the best. In order to find out who the best are, we must first know where they are.
In 2006, Lingtech participated in a research project held by CBS, Copenhagen University and the Ministry for Science, Technology and Development. The objective was to study the possibilities for a commercial version of a statistics-based machine-translation system. It became clear during the project that the results were so good that they could, in fact, be used commercially. So Daniel Hardt and Jakob Elming decided to set up their own company, languagelens.
Today
In the spring of 2007, Lingtech entered into an agreement with languagelens on the development and implementation of what we now call Lingtech Sunbeam. As early as the fall of 2007, it was possible to replace our previous machine-translation system with the new system.
Today, Lingtech works very closely and productively with languagelens, implementing and selling Lingtech Sunbeam to customers. There has been tremendous interest in Lingtech Sunbeam and we have good reason to believe that the technology will bring about enormous changes in the translation sector in the years to come.
