Cross-cultural understanding
According to an old Danish proverb, "Equal children play best." In fact, this is not altogether true. Research has now shown that although equal children do play more easily together, they do not necessarily play best together.
When working on a professional level, people must always be well prepared in order to complete their tasks. A course in cross-cultural understanding provides both theoretical and practical tools of great use when people are faced with previously unfamiliar cultural factors in work situations.
All of us, at one time or another, encounter people who are different from ourselves. People of a different skin colour, with different eating habits, different religions, and, indeed, in some situations, people of another sex. This often gives rise to some uncertainty but, with a bit of respect, a smile or two and a little extra time, we often overcome that uncertainty.
