A new owner for Lingtech
Lingtech A/S, a leading provider of language services to the Nordic market, has gained the Swedish company Kommunicera Communications AB as new owner. This acquisition is part of a succession process for Lingtech and will strenghten the position of both companies in the market.
Lingtech was founded in 1993 as a translation provider to the patent industry, and grew into a company offering language services of all types, primarily to companies in northern Europe. Lingtech has established a position as a leading provider of translations and other language services to industries such as life science, IT and market analysis.
Kommunicera Communications AB was founded in 1990 and is today one of the leading translation groups in the Nordic region, with a head office in Gothenburg, and offices in Oslo, Norway, and Utrecht in the Netherlands. Kommunicera Communications specialises in providing customised, technically-advanced solutions to a wide range of industries. The acquisition of Lingtech brings the number of Kommunicera Communications staff up to 45.
"With Kommunicera Communications as new owner we can offer our customers a wider range of services, as well as a strong local presence in the Nordic countries, hereby ensuring even better service and support," says Ann Charlotte Norin, CEO of Lingtech. "As we could see that Kommunicera Communications and Lingtech shared the same fundamental goals and values the negotiations were soon completed," the CEO adds.
Johan Laestadius, CEO of Kommunicera Communications, comments on the acquisition of Lingtech as follows: "Our long-term goal is to expand our activities in the Nordic market and we have had our sights on Denmark for some time. We believe that Lingtech is the right match for us, and we can see considerable synergy potential within language technology and market position. Kommunicera's acquisition of Lingtech will strengthen our combined translation resources, while consolidating our position in the market." Johan Laestadius does not rule out further acquisitions in the future: "Our focus now is to achieve a smooth integration of Lingtech into the Group, before we venture into Finland."
Lingtech will continue to operate under the same name.
